Suzanne Tanner Chitwood is an author and illustrator or several children's books including Wake Up, Big Barn! and Boom Chicka Rock.
She grew up at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina where she was making art from the earliest time she can remember.
She studied Art History in college and Drawing and Painting in graduate school at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and later at Tulane University where she received her Masters of Fine Arts in drawing and painting.
The playful, humorous quality of her illustrations make them appealing to children and adults.
